The accident took place around 3:00 a.m. in Pearl City. A patrol officer observed the 20-year-old woman commit a traffic violation. The officer initiated a traffic stop, but the suspect refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated. During the pursuit the suspect collided into two occupied HPD vehicles. She then fled on foot. She was found nearby and arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree criminal property damage, driving without a license, fleeing the scene of a motor vehicle collision, and driving without proof of insurance.

An accident along Kalakaua Avenue caused a major traffic snarl and landed a man in jail. Honolulu police say at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday near Makaloa Street a car lost control and slammed into a utility pole, bringing it and another pole down. Kalakaua Avenue was closed while crews fixed the poles. Traffic backed up all the way into Waikiki. The road was reopened at about 12:45 p.m. The driver of the car, 56-year-old Wayne Ramel, was arrested for drunk driving, driving without a license, and refusing to submit to a breathalyzer. He was released from police custody after posting bail.
