Shortly after 8:30am, Cummings was driving a semi-truck on I-90 and attempting to pass another semi-truck when he lost control on the slick and icy road and struck the concrete barrier, which caused his semi-truck to roll onto its side. Debris from Cummings' truck fell off of the overpass onto parked vehicles below and caused damage to three of them, but no one was in them at the time. Cummings was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries of unknown severity.

A mother and daughter were killed and five of the woman's other children were injured in a rollover car accident on a snowy interstate south of Pocatello. Rachel Hollibaugh, 38, of Dietrich, Idaho, was pronounced deceased at the crash site on Christmas morning, as was her 14-year-old daughter, Tanessa Hollibaugh. The five injured children were transported to a Pocatello hospital. Three children were treated and released, and a fourth was still at the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. According to investigators, the mother lost control of a Ford F-250 pickup and the vehicle rolled.

Kimberly P. Mullins, 45, of Kimberly, died after her vehicle slid off Golf Course Road and into a canal. Mullins’ 1997 Chevrolet Blazer slid off the road near 300 South in Jerome County about 7 p.m. Thursday, entered the canal and rolled. Mullins was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed that snowy weather conditions played a role in the fatal accident.

A crash in Coeur d’Alene early Saturday killed a man from Rathdrum. Joshua T. Means, 39, was driving southbound on Lambert Lane in Coeur d’Alene at 12:18 a.m., according to a news release. Means lost control on the slushy and icy road, driving off the roadway and colliding with a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt. Means died as a result of his injuries.
