Anchorage, AKGary Contento, a man from Fairbanks, was seriously injured after he crashed his snowmobile near Nenana. He spent around 12 hours waiting for a rescue because of poor weather conditions in the area. An Alaska Air National Guard helicopter responded to the accident, picking him up around 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

Chicago, ILA man was snowmobiling in Baroda Township, Berrien County on Sunday evening when a pickup truck struck him. The accident occurred while a winter storm warning was in effect, just after 6 p.m. A 2003 Chevy truck was driving south on Cleveland and turning left into a private driveway when it collided with a snowmobile operated by Aaron Olmstead. Olmstead was traveling north along Cleveland. Martin said Olmstead was ejected from the snowmobile and pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver, Jonah Stoll, 18, was not issued a traffic citation. Neither Stoll nor his passenger were injured.

Friday, February 28, 2014A 51-year-old Chelmsford, Mass., woman suffered serious injuries when she rolled her snowmobile on Highland Lake in Washington, officials said.
Joan Dillon lost control while making a turn on the ice Saturday afternoon, New Hampshire Fish and Game officials said.
An ambulance took Dillon to Concord Hospital, where her injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening. Investigators said Dillon's inexperience on the snowmobile was the main cause of her crash.

Milwaukee, WIA missing snowmobiler was found dead after he apparently crashed on an ice-covered lake in Walworth County over the weekend.
Searchers were called to Lake Delavan around 8 a.m. Sunday to look for the 51-year-old man who had been missing about 12 hours.
Investigators said the man's family found his snowmobile out on the frozen lake Sunday morning and called police.

Minneapolis-St. Paul, MNA 22-year-old Maple Grove man died Saturday in a snowmobile crash in north-central Minnesota, authorities said.
According to a statement from the Todd County Sheriff’s Office released Sunday:
Authorities received a report of a missing man at 11:23 a.m. Saturday.
Friends of Jared Wallenfelsz said they had last seen him driving a snowmobile away from his family’s cabin on Long Lake about 1:30 a.m. that morning.

Madison, WIA Michigan man was killed Friday in a snowmobile accident in Columbia County, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
The accident was reported about 1 p.m. near Cambria, and speed and snow conditions may have been factors in the accident, according to the DNR.

Milwaukee, WIA 24-year-old Lake Mills woman was killed Sunday when her snowmobile hit a patch of open water and slid into trees along a riverbank, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office said.
The woman was riding second in a line of six snowmobiles heading south on the frozen river next to N3000 County BB at 4:21 p.m. Sunday. A 26-year-old Sun Prairie man was driving behind her, saw the crash and the open water and jumped off his snowmobile, which also crashed into trees, a news release stated.
