40-year-old Jeanne Anguiano was allegedly drunk and driving a stolen vehicle when she was headed south in the northbound lanes of Eastern Avenue at around 3:40 a.m. An officer that was directing traffic was attempting to pull her over, but not before she crashed into a truck and the three construction workers who were near it. Two of the workers and Anguiano herself were seriously injured and brought to the hospital, while one worker was struck but did not require hospitalization. A man who was driving the wrong way on the Niagara Thruway for several miles early Monday morning and then struck a roadside construction crane is facing charges of drunken driving, according to Lewiston Police. Douglas P. Pytlik Jr., 32, of Linwood Avenue, North Tonawanda, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
