A person was killed Wednesday evening when a Toyota Corolla hit the center divide on northbound Interstate 280 in Daly City, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident, which involved only the Corolla, occurred about 4:45 p.m. on I-280 near the Westlake Avenue off-ramp.
The left three lanes of northbound I-280 were blocked for about two-and-a-half hours after the crash. They opened about 7:30 p.m., according to the CHP.

A bicyclist who was struck by a big-rig truck and killed in West Oakland has been identified as a 62-year-old El Cerrito woman, the Alameda County Coroner's office said Thursday.
Susan Watson was riding her bicycle at Fifth and Market streets at about 6:15 p.m. Dec, 17 when the truck hit her, police said.
The truck driver has been cooperating with the investigation, according to authorities.

Three lanes of westbound Interstate 580 have been reopened near the I-680 interchange in Dublin in the wake of a Friday morning injury crash and diesel fuel spill, authorities said.
The crash was reported shortly before 9 a.m. when a big rig collided with a BMW, causing the truck to jackknife, according to the California Highway Patrol. At least one injury was reported.
All but one westbound lane of I-580 east of I-680 were initially closed while crews handled the crash.
An injury crash blocked multiple lanes on the lower deck of the Bay Bridge for about 40 minutes this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at about 9:20 a.m. and involved four cars in the eastbound lanes of the bridge near Treasure Island, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.
At least one person suffered minor injuries in the crash, which initially blocked the four left eastbound lanes, Bartlett said.
Two of the lanes opened by about 9:50 a.m. and the roadway fully reopened about 10 minutes later, according to the CHP.
At least nine people were taken to the hospital Wednesday after a San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit train’s emergency brakes malfunctioned, stranding hundreds of passengers in a tunnel, officials said.
Oakland Fire Battalion Chief Melinda Drayton said the nine were among 11 passengers who were treated for medical issues. The extent of their injuries was not clear, but Drayton said many of the passengers complained of respiratory problems caused by brake dust.
One passenger was found in a semiconscious state and another suffered an asthma attack.
The San Francisco Giants say some of the baseball club’s minor league players were injured in a Tuesday morning crash at Scottsdale and Chaparral roads in Scottsdale.
The crash occurred when a team van collided with a Kia Sedan car after pulling out of a hotel’s driveway. Northbound lanes of Scottsdale Road were closed for more than an hour. The driver of the Kia was not hurt.
