Police say the driver of a SUV intentionally ran over a 50-year-old man on Christmas Eve in southeast Houston and fled the scene.
Around 9 p.m. Tuesday, witnesses saw the victim speak to the driver inside the SUV at 6000 Bellfort near Mykawa. The man tried to run away from the car. As the man fell down, the driver ran him over. He died at the scene.
Police said one witness provided part of the SUV's license plate number as "82G."
A man died when he got off a Metro bus Tuesday morning and a car hit him as he crossed a street in northwest Houston.
The incident happened about 6:30 a.m. at 10500 Hempstead near Dacoma, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said a second vehicle ran over the man. The driver who initially hit the man stopped. The other driver did not. The pedestrian died.
Investigators are gathering more information to determine exactly what happened.
