A 21-year-old woman died following a crash on Interstate 40 in Greensboro early Saturday morning.
Jasmine Shanice Goins of Greensboro was critically injured in the single-vehicle crash around 4:45 a.m. on the westbound side near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. She was taken to Moses Cone Hospital, where she died.
Goins was driving a 2007 Chrysler Sebring when it hit a guardrail to the right, went airborne and rolled over between the interstate and the MLK Jr. Drive exit ramp, Greensboro police said. Goins was ejected from the car as it rolled over, police said.
A 78-year-old woman was killed after crashing into a tree in Davidson County Friday morning.
Frances Rose of Thomasville died in the single-car crash just before 9 a.m. on Holly Grove Road near Lohr Road in Davidson County.
Rose was driving a 2008 Kia car west on Holly Grove Road when she overcorrected twice, causing her to run off the road to the right and overturn, troopers said. The roof of the car hit a tree, and Rose was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rose was driving too fast for the rainy conditions, troopers said.
A Winston-Salem man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning.
Rene Quiterio Medel, 27, died in the crash just after 6 a.m. in the 2700 block of Cole Road between Interstate 40 and Highway 311.
Medel's Honda Civic was going east on Cole Road when the car went off the road to the right, went down an embankment and crashed into several small trees, Winston-Salem police said.
The trees forced the car to rotate and face westbound, police said. Medel was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Pennsylvania man was killed in a crash Wednesday in Guilford County.
Authorities with the North Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Ted Johnson Parkway near Piedmont-Triad International Airport.
Investigators said Donald Dobransky, 46, was in the vehicle when it went off the road and into the treeline. They said speed was likely a factor in the crash.
An investigation is underway, and officials said no charges have been filed.
