Teen in critical condition after collision on State Road 73 and Sunset Drive in Eagle Mountain, Utah
Four of the car's occupants, including the female driver, were ejected when the car rolled several times after missing a curve near 2275 N. Dry Creek Way. The driver, Maryah Hayley Edwards, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old boy identified as Jayden Farrell was airlifted to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, where he underwent surgery. He is listed in critical condition Friday. Two other teens were transported to IMC in serious condition, while two passengers suffered minor injuries.
A car with three occupants traveling south on 2000 West at about 1:30 p.m. moved into the northbound lane and crashed head on with pickup truck. A passenger in the southbound car, 24-year-old Evan Martin, was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The car's driver and a passenger sustained serious injuries, as did the woman driving the pickup truck.
It was about 1:30 p.m. when a raft carrying six people operated by Sheri Griffith River Expeditions was on the Colorado River and overturned due to rough conditions at Funnel Falls. Moments later, a private raft carrying three people also overturned at the same place. A total of eight people were thrown into the water, with only the rower of the private raft able to remain in the boat. Everyone except Charles McLynch, 50, who was in the commercial raft, and Adam Ericksen, 27, who was in the private raft, managed to get out of the water and back into the boats.
Two men are in critical condition after a rollover accident on I-80 in Tooele County on Monday at approximately 11:00 a.m. The driver was not wearing his seat belt and suffered head injuries after being ejected. His passenger, not wearing a seat belt, suffered head injuries also. A female passenger was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries. The two males were airlifted to the hospital and are listed in critical condition.
At about 2:36 a.m. Sunday, a 1990 Chevrolet pickup was eastbound on state Route 24 when, near milepost 76, the vehicle went off the highway at a bend in the road near Capitol Reef National Park. The driver, identified as Michael W. Anderson, 54, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the truck and killed on impact.
The serious crash occurred at approxmately 10 p.m. Friday on I-80 near mile marker 29, when a male driver traveling westbound on the freeway exited the road and hit a parked semi-truck. The man was ejected from the vehicle, and was transported to the University Hospital in critical condition. Check back for more information as it becomes available.
