Cyclist died 'instantly' in Marion County crash with minivan
The sheriff's office reported the crash happened around 6:30 a.m. and said it was both dark and rainy in the area. The report said the cyclist was riding along Shaff Road in an area with a very small shoulder when a minivan driver hit the bicycle from behind.

Charles Michael Phillips, 46, of Aumsville, was riding east on Shaff Road SE near Rainwater Road SE around 6:30 a.m. when he was hit by an eastbound minivan, officials said.
