James M. Shortt III, 35, killed in motorcycle crash at State Road 54 and Starkey Boulevard in New Port Richey, Florida
Pasco Crash Kills Motorcyclist
A 2016 Ford Focus driven by Kathryn L. Branca, 63, of New Port Richey, was headed east in the left turn lane of SR 54. Mr. Shortt was riding a 2002 Honda VT750 west on SR 54. The Focus turned left into the path of the motorcycle, which hit the car.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.

I worked with him, and he was wearing a helmet. The cops don't know what they are talking about, the helmet probably came off when he was hit by this old lady

Thank you guys! I keep hoping I can find a report that is accurate. Police have still not "notified" my mother or me and they won't return our messages so that we can get the insurance info we need from the woman to cover the costs of everything. It's just not right!
I was there, on the stop line
I was there, on the stop line on Starkey planning to turn left onto 54 when it happened. 100% he was wearing a helmet. I left when the group moved him from the intersection to the corner. I never saw his face.
