Driver wanted in deadly Gaston Co. hit-and-run

A man struck by a vehicle in Mount Holly earlier this week night has died, police said Thursday. Officers believe the driver may be in a 2004-2008 Ford pickup truck with damage to the passenger side mirror. Now, police are searching for the driver, described as a male. Tuesday near the intersection of S. Main Street and Rose Street when he was struck by a vehicle, police say.

SC man charged with hit-and-run that killed NC man

MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. (AP) - A South Carolina man has been charged in a wreck that killed a 67-year-old man as he walked to a gas station in Mount Holly. Authorities say Meggs was hit Tuesday while walking in Mount Holly, and paramedics found him still in the road. Police told media outlets that 52-year-old Jerry Pruitt, of Moore, South Carolina, was arrested Friday and charged with felony hit and run. Investigators say damage to Pruitt's Ford pickup connected him to the death of Jerry Meggs as several people called in tips. Pruitt remained in jail on a $100,000 bond and it wasn't known if he had a lawyer.

Im so sorry to the family for your loss. I know its hard and I hope you can find peace after they have caught who did it. My friend was killed in mount holly just a few days ago from the same incident.. he was fighting for his life for the past week prior until yesterday when God finally told him it was okay.
