Double fatal crash claims life of two Darlington men, victims identified

DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported a fatal accident in Darlington County Sunday night after a vehicle went off the the roadway, struck a sign and utility pole. The driver and passenger were killed and not wearing a seatbelt, according to SCHP. The Nissan Maxima went off the right side of the road then struck the sign and utility pole. Coroner Todd Hardee said, 29-year-old David Christopher McAllister and 29-year-old Edward McAllister both of Darlington were pronounced dead at the scene. Hardee said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Billy Farrow Highway and Carolina Avenue in Hartsville. This incident remains under investigation by the Darlington County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
