SCMPD investigating crash that left 2 in critical condition

Officers from the SCMPD Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) continue to investigate.
Savannah law enforcement officers are investigating a single-vehicle accident that left both occupants in critical condition on Wednesday night. Carrie Cooper, 37, was transported by ambulance, and Richard Burnsed, 47, was airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center, after both were ejected from the vehicle into the marsh on US 80 East at 9 p.m. Burnsed was driving a 2004 Toyota Tundra west on US 80 near of Fort Pulaski, when he lost control of the vehicle which exited the roadway and rolled over.
