One killed in Wilson County wreck
Wet roads played a role in a multi vehicle fatal accident Wednesday afternoon on U-400, just East of Clay Road in Wilson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Breunca Taylor of Parsons died Wednesday after losing control of her vehicle while driving on U.S. 400 in wet conditions about seven miles west of Fredonia. Her vehicle was struck by an eastbound semi and then struck again by another vehicle behind her. The semi struck another car before sideswiping another tractor-trailer. Mary Blasi of Park City was taken to a hospital in Fredonia, but her condition wasn't immediately known.

we were behind the accident..
we were behind the accident.. we had waited(on 1500 Rd heading west) for the line of several cars and semi's(on hwy 400) to pass in front of us and then pulled ( west) out onto 400...It was raining and as we got closer to the accident scene (approx 2 miles), we saw hail piled 3 or 4 inches deep on the roadway..It was a small swath of hail but very unexpected for drivers to encounter as they rounded the curve from both EAST AND WEST bound lanes..A semi crashed into the north ditch( I'm sure to avoid hitting the wrecked vehicles)..(a very heroric move)... as we almost did not get stopped in time to avoid hitting the wreck.. We did not go the scene as we were frantically trying to stop the on coming traffic..and also calling 911..We prayed that there were no fatalities but as we see there was..It was a very freak accident and are so sorry for Breunca's family..again our condolances.
