Elizabeth M. Maye, 45, and Amanda J. Maye-Strawn, 42, killed in rear-end car accident with driver Isaiah Z. Kaneaster, 18, on Highway 20 in Albany, Oregon

Two St. Helens women killed Friday in a three-car pileup just east of Albany have been identified as Elizabeth M. Maye and Amanda J. Maye-Strawn. They were driving east on Highway 20 near Milepost 2 when Maye's 2013 Nissan Versa slowed down to make a left turn onto Goldfish Farm Road. The Nissan was struck from behind by a 1998 Dodge pickup driven by Isaiah Z. Kaneaster, 18, of Scio, and then struck head-on by a westbound 2003 Honda Odyssey. Maye, 45, and Maye-Strawn, 42, were pronounced dead at the scene. It is not confirmed at this point whether the women are related. Kaneaster was not injured in the crash. The driver of the Honda was not injured, but three of the van's passengers were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.
