Southern Calif. woman charged with murder in golf cart crash

INDIO, Calif. (AP) A Southern California woman has been charged with murder, animal cruelty and driving while impaired in a crash that killed two Canadian men riding with their dogs on a golf cart. The Riverside County District Attorney's Office said Monday that 32-year-old Angela Lavanty was charged Friday with second-degree murder in Wednesday's crash in unincorporated Thousands Palms. On Wednesday afternoon, Lavanty's Mercedes SUV hit the back of a golf cart, ejecting 76-year-old Ronald Little and 77-year-old Neil Frederick. Her mother, Marsha Lavanty, said Monday that her daughter is not a murderer but declined to comment further. They and their two dogs were killed.

Quite a few details left out. Mainly the ones that address her alcohol level being ZERO 0.00%. No checkup by paramedic after airbag deployed and she showed no mental impairment for the 5+ hours she was at scene. Several legal aspects of the cart laws, like where was the designated cart crossing where accident was? I saw no crossing nor signs stating to look out for carts on street or that they could be on street just a picture of a cart at the crossings. Negligence on both ends. There are dog restraints specifically for carts and seat belts for humans even.
