A pedestrian was seriously injured in a crash that closed most of south Interstate 5 in downtown San Diego for about 40 minutes Thursday afternoon, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The man killed in an Everett crash Thursday night has been identified as Paul S. Linari, 21, of Everett, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. A man was killed in a crash Thursday night into a guardrail in Everett, and another man from the vehicle tried to run away.

Troopers were investigating a crash involving a motorcycle on southbound I-5 Thursday afternoon. The motorcyclist was thrown onto the northbound shoulder at 12:37 p.m., just north of the Snohomish River near Everett. Police believe the man, 30, of Selah, somehow lost control of his motorcycle.

A Ridgefield man caused a second crash after he allegedly tried to film the scene of a fatal crash while he was driving.

A newly purchased, $80,000 transport van used by the Veteran’s Administration to transport disabled vets was one of two vehicles totaled in a crash on I-5 Saturday morning.

A Vancouver man was killed late Friday in a single-car accident on Interstate 5 north of Vancouver, according to the Washington State Patrol. The WSP reported that Sergey A. Bondarchuk, 18, was driving a 1997 Acura sedan south on I-5 at 11:27 p.m.

A Washington State Patrol trooper was taken to the hospital for minor injuries after a five-car collision on the slick roads of Interstate 5 Tuesday morning.

A traffic accident in the southbound lanes of Interstate-5 near Northgate has caused a seven-mile backup from Northgate all the way to Interstate-405, according to the state Department of Transportation. The incident has made the Everett to Seattle commute more than an hour and a half.
