So, is mass transit really more dangerous than driving a car or truck – or could it be that a reliance on buses and other public transportation vehicles is actually safer than driving?
A 27-year-old man was crossing in a crosswalk at the intersection of 90th and Bergenline Avenue when a commuter bus made a left turn and pinned him underneath. He was critically injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. The incident is still under investigation.
A vehicle collided with a school bus around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday near the University of Alaska Anchorage. The incident occured at Northern Lights Boulevard and UAA Drive. Small children were on the bus, however the injuries reported were minor.
10 people were injured when two city busses collided, injuring both drivers, several passengers, and a few children. The injured have been sent to a local hospital. The cause of the accident is unclear.
