66-year-old woman killed in Jeffco traffic crash

Police and rescue workers were dispatched at 10:03 a.m. to Johns Road between Powder Plant Road and the Hueytown city limits. A 66-year-old woman was killed today in a crash in western Jefferson County. They arrived to find that a vehicle had been traveling eastbound Johns Road and had veered off the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree and then came to rest down a slight embankment, said Bessemer police Sgt. Bessemer firefighters and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Ann Bruce Barnhill. She was 66, and lived in Brookwood.
