2 men killed in apparent traffic crash, Birmingham police say

"We found no evidence of anything other" than a single-vehicle traffic crash. Birmingham police are investigating after two men were found dead inside a crashed vehicle in Pratt City on Sunday morning. Officers found the vehicle in a flooded area off Pratt Highway, which is just off Highway 78 at around 11 a.m., Birmingham police Sgt. "We are investigating their deaths as a traffic homicide," he said. The names of the two men haven't been released pending the notified of next of kin.

Double traffic fatality in Birmingham

The deaths are being investigated as traffic fatalities although the circumstances leading up to the accident are unclear, according to Sergeant Bryan Shelton.

Coroner identifies two men found dead in submerged car

According to the coroner, both men were in a 1994 Crown Victoria which was found upside down in a pond, down an embankment on the side of Pratt Highway.
