The SUV failed to yield to the bus from a stop sign and hit the bus in an “angular front end collision,” the report states. The driver “stated he was not paying attention and did not see the stop sign,” the trooper report says.
Pickens County School's superintendent Jamie Chapman announced the loss of veteran bus driver, Sharon Hood, on the their Facebook page. Hood was driving the bus when it collided with an SUV near Ethelsville, west of Reform, Alabama on Friday. The bus then crashed into a tree. There were 14 students on board, from Reform Elementary School and Pickens County High School. All who were involved in the crash suffer from minor to severe injuries.
