A Gadsden Police officer assigned to the Etowah County Drug Task Force was injured in a wreck Saturday afternoon.
A Gadsden Police officer assigned to the Etowah County Drug Task Force was injured in a wreck Saturday afternoon.
Rob Savage, commander of the Joint Special Operations Group, said Sgt. Gary Pierce was injured on U.S. 411 near Whorton Bend Road. The accident occurred around 6 p.m. Pierce was riding a motorcycle when the accident happened.
Pierce, currently assigned to the county's Drug Task Force Unit, was transported to UAB Hospital where he is in critical condition, Savage said.
