Teenagers fishing on the Coosa River Wednesday discovered the body of a boater missing for more than three weeks.

The missing man is Steve Tripp, owner of Revolution Performance Marine, a company that makes high-performance boats. Authorities said the boat was traveling more than 100 mph when it broke up on the other side of an island just downstream from the U.S. 280 bridge.

Workers at Revolution Performance Marine declined to comment Wednesday. The search was called off at sunset Tuesday, and resumed early Wednesday.

A second man was thrown from the boat, according to the Talladega newspaper account, and later taken to UAB Hospital via helicopter.
