Oxford Police arrested a 23-year-old Anniston man Tuesday on multiple charges related to a hit-and-run accident Sunday.

Police said Rodrick Jamar Montgomery was released on $30,000 bond Tuesday and faces charges of manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and texting while driving.
The accident occurred Sunday night in the 2200 block of Barry Street. Ricky Lee Suddarth, 47, was found by the side of the road by a man walking his dog. Investigators took debris from the scene and traced it to a tan 2004 Ford Explorer belonging to Montgomery, police said.
Police say Montgomery told them he was texting when the accident occurred.
A grand jury will determine any further charges, Owens said.
