One Auburn police officer and another driver injured after a car crashes into a police cruiser on southbound I-85 in Auburn, Alabama

An Auburn Police Officer has been released from the hospital after being struck while working the crash on I-85 southbound at exit 57. According to Alabama State Troopers the car was struck from behind with the officer still inside. Both the officer and the driver of the other car were transported from the scene. Troopers say while driving near any accident, remember the move over law. Crash scenes and incoming traffic can be a dangerous combination for officials attempting to help victims. Auburn Police say the crash on I-85 involved an overturned tractor trailer. Traffic is still delayed in this area while cleanup continues. The driver of the truck was not injured. No other information is being released at this time as the investigation continues.
