Opelika woman dies in vehicle-pedestrian incident
The driver of the 1997 Ford Explorer, who made the emergency call, said he hit something and apparently did not see Key walking in the roadway when he was traveling north on Lafayette Parkway, according to the release.
A female pedestrian, walking north on 2400 Block of Lafayette Parkway, died at the scene after she was struck by a 1997 Ford Explorer traveling in the same direction. The accident happened at 7:48 p.m. on February 23.
The crash is under investigation by the Opelika Police Department and they are withholding the name of the victim as of this time.
