One person dead, 2 children injured in Lawrence wreck

A tree service truck traveling west on Alabama 36 and attempting to turn left onto Lawrence 203 collided with car traveling east around 7:45 a.m. Firefighters at the scene said a woman, believed to be from Tennessee, was killed and her two children have been transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

State troopers are investigating the crash that happened at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 36 and County Road 206. Troopers identified the driver who was killed as 25-year-old Tiffany Brook Jones of Somerville. Two children in the vehicle, ages 3 and 1, were taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Somerville mother dies in accident

A Somerville woman was killed and her two children injured in a two-vehicle accident on Ala. 36 on Monday morning, Nov. 23. The 2004 Kia Amanti driven by Jones collided with a 2004 Sterling truck driven by Jonathan Albert Tanner of Horton. The accident happened at the intersection of Ala. 36 and County Road 203 at 7:30 a.m. According to Alabama State Trooper Jonathan Appling, Tiffany Brook Jones 25, was killed. Her passengers, Kaydence Jones, 3, and Kiah Ryan, 1, were injured and taken to Huntsville Hospital.
