West Limestone student dies following wreck

Trooper Curtis Summerville said Vicente, who was 14, was the passenger of a 1999 Mercury. Vicente was injured after the vehicle left Easter Ferry Road, 10 miles east of Athens, and struck a tree at 3:30 p.m. He was not wearing a seat belt.

14-year-old killed in car wreck near Athens

The driver of the car, a 16-year old whose name has not been released, was transported to an area hospital for injuries. Sunday at Limestone High School. A 14-year-old died from injuries he received in a Thursday afternoon car accident. Ramos, who was not using a seatbelt, was transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Children's Hospital, where he died on Friday. Andres Ramos, of Athens, was thrown from the vehicle he was riding in when it struck a tree on Easter Ferry Road, according to the Alabama State Trooper's office.
