A two-vehicle crash at 2:40 a.m. on Wednesday claimed the life of a Lake Worth, Fla., woman and injured four others, according to Alabama State Troopers.
The crash occurred at 2:40 a.m. on I-10 at the 3.5 mile marker, which is west of Mobile near Grand Bay. Maria Elena Lemus, 41, was driving a in a 2002 Ford Windstar when the van side-swiped a 2012 Freightliner tractor-trailer, ran off the road and overturned. Passenger Angela Lemus Lopez, 61, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Three other passengers were brought to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. No one was wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the tractor trailor was not injured.
