Authorities in south Phoenix say two people died in a single-car wreck early Sunday morning.
Authorities in south Phoenix say two people died in a single-car wreck early Sunday morning. A young couple in their mid-20s died in a rollover crash near Laveen Sunday morning. A Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman said a little after 4 a.m. the driver of a white Lexus in the northbound lanes of 51st Avenue lost control and rolled the car several times. A man and a woman, both in their 20's, died at the scene. The investigators on scene said the car was traveling extremely fast when it left the roadway rolling multiple times and coming to rest in the front driveway of a home 150 yards away. The car cut an electric power pole mid-way up the pole during it's flight from the road causing a power outage in the nearby neighborhood. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in this wreck.
