The father of a 7-year-old girl badly injured in an ATV crash in Mesa this past weekend is facing a charge of endangerment, police said.

A 7-year-old Mesa girl was hospitalized with severe head injuries after the all-terrain vehicle she was driving crashed into a block wall Sunday afternoon.
Mesa police said the crash happened about 3:40 p.m. in the area of Broadway Road and Longmore.
The girl was not wearing a helmet while on the ATV, which was built for a child, said a Mesa Fire Department spokesman said.
Officials said the girl was being taught by her father to ride the ATV.
The girl was taken to Maricopa Medical Center for treatment and reported in stable condition, according to police.
