Police: 2 ejected from car in north Phoenix

Two people are in serious condition after they were ejected from a vehicle that crashed early Wednesday in north Phoenix.

A 23-year-old man was transported to a trauma center in critical condition. A 21-year-old man was also transported to a trauma center in serious condition.

Two people were riding in a car on Deer Valley Road at Interstate 17 when the vehicle left the road and crashed. The two men were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. When emergency crews arrived they found the car on fire. The southbound off-ramp of Interstate 17 at Deer Valley Road was closed after the accident. Police believe that excessive speed and alcohol were likely involved in this accident.
