Karli Richardson, Kelsey Richardson, and Keaton Tyler Allison, 22, killed in wrong-way crash on Interstate 17 near Greenway Road in Phoenix, Arizona
The wrong-way driver, a 22-year-old man, had gone for 5 or 6 miles from the Happy Valley/Pinnacle Peak area before slamming into a white passenger car.
The wrong-way driver was a 22-year-old man driving a car with Colorado license plates and the women were ages 19 and 20, apparently sisters and in a car with North Carolina plates, said spokesman Raul Garcia of the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Karli Richardson planned to graduate from Grand Canyon University this spring and Kelsey Richardson was visiting her sister, KNXV reported.
Dutch Bros. Arizona hosted a fundraiser for the families of the Richardsons and Allison. The company said Allison was an employee and one of the sisters was a regular. That fundraiser brought in more than $30,000.
Records released Friday by the Arizona Department of Public Safety show Keaton Allison, 21, narrowly missed striking another vehicle prior to the crash that would end three lives, including his own.
