Almira Greer, 16, Ali Greer, 18, and Courtney Lonergan, 45, dead, many injured in pileup involving stolen vehicle and metro bus at the intersection of Seventh and Missouri avenues in Phoenix, Arizona
Three people died and another six were injured Thursday afternoon after a crash in Phoenix involving four vehicles and a Valley Metro bus, according to Phoenix police.
Phoenix police say a man ran a red light in an SUV stolen minutes earlier, causing a four-vehicle collision that killed a woman and her two teenaged children.
Police said the carjacking suspect was among several people injured in the crash Thursday and will be arrested and booked into jail on unspecified charges once released from a hospital.
The stolen car, a darkish blue Cadillac SRX, belonged to a lady who was in her automotive when it was taken by a 33-year-old man she knew.
Police said the 18-year-old was driving a car with his mother and sister as passengers when it collided with the SUV. Both vehicles then struck a pickup, which struck a city bus. The SUV then hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk and a car that was stopped, police said.
