Boy Killed In Polk County ATV Accident
About 4:05 p.m. Thursday, Polk County dispatch was notified of an ATV accident on Polk County Road 81 in the Shady community. Polk County deputies, an officer with the U.S. Forest Service and EMS responded to the scene, according to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
A father and son were riding two separate ATVs on Polk County Road 81 while on vacation from Huntsville. The boy was driving one of the ATVs when it ran into the back of the vehicle driven by his father. The boy was ejected and died at the scene.
