A California Highway Patrol cruiser and a car collided Sunday night on Highway 99 in Butte County, sending three people to the hospital with minor to moderate injury.

A California Highway Patrol cruiser and a car collided Sunday night on Highway 99 in Butte County, sending three people to the hospital with minor to moderate injury.

The crash occurred at about 8:45 p.m. Sunday near Biggs on Highway 99 at B Street when a Ford Crown Victoria patrol vehicle and a Ford Fusion collided. Both vehicles were traveling northbound on Highway 99.

All people involved were wearing seatbelts. Airbags deployed at the time of the collision.

The three people in the Ford Fusion – a 35-year-old man from Oroville, a 54-year-old woman from Oroville and a 4-year-old Biggs girl -- were taken to the hospital with complaint of pain injuries. The officer suffered minor injury, according to a CHP press release.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
