Deadly crash leads to Jellys Ferry Bridge collapse in Tehama County

Part of the Jellys Ferry bridge collapsed under a CAL FIRE truck that was responding to the crash. Three men inside were able to get out and were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Victim identified in Jellys Ferry fatal accident

Matthew James, 18 of Red Bluff, was driving a 1998 GMC 2500 Pick Up southbound on Jellys Ferry Bridge when he swerved and hit the bridge guard rail, sending it through the air and slamming into a metal support beam.
