A man and woman killed in a car crash in Madera County early Friday morning were driving a BMW reported carjacked in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver and a passenger of a stolen BMW were killed early Friday when the speeding car crashed into a big rig in Madera County, the California Highway Patrol reported. The sports car was taken at gunpoint earlier in the week in Oakland, the CHP said.

Omar Jason Spencer and Halyma Beana Alzanbaai, 22 also known as Venita Patsy Jackson, were speeding on Highway 99 near Madera in a stolen BMW when they crashed into the back of a big-rig. The BMW rolled and ejected the two people, killing them at the scene. The pair are alleged to be involved in a string of armed robberies along International Boulevard.
