"It looks as though the driver of the minivan was passing the big rig it came into contact the minivan being the smaller of the two vehicles took the brunt. And basically overturned," said Sgt. Ed Jacobs of the California Highway Patrol.

It was just before 6:00pm when a van carrying 9 men collided with the front of a semi-truck, the collision resulting in four of the men dying and the other five sustaining injuries of unknown severity; the truck driver, identified as Augustin Mendoza, 39, was uninjured but arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
