Man Taking Photos Fatally Struck By Passenger Train

A man was struck and killed by a passenger train in North Hollywood Wednesday morning as he was taking photos while standing on the tracks.
A 21-year-old man was taking photos while standing on train tracks near Raymer Street in North Hollywood. An Amtrak train traveling from Union Station to Santa Barbara sounded its horn to alert the man but he failed to move in time and was stuck and gravely injured. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Train service for the VC Line 763 and VC Line 107 was interrupted for a time after the collision.
