Carrots littered a Lake Los Angeles street after a big rig and a sedan crashed Monday night.

Carrots littered a Lake Los Angeles street after a big rig and a sedan crashed Monday night.

A big rig that was traveling with a heavy load of carrots collided with a dark blue 4-door sedan as it was making a u-turn while traveling westbound on 170th Street toward Avenue N, according to CHP. The sedan sustained heavy damage on its left side and the big rig flipped over on its side, officials said.

Four passengers were traveling in the sedan at the time of the crash.

Two passengers were airlifted to a nearby hospital and three other passengers were transported to a local area hospital with minor to moderate injuries, according to CHP.

170th Street was closed for a few hours Monday night as crews worked to clean up the carrot spill. A separate sedan traveling on 170th Street did not see the hazard on the road and got stuck in the carrots.
