Sheriff's Lt. Bill Jaeger says authorities were contacted when the man failed to show up at a rally point that evening.

According to City News Service, the 59-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was one of five hang gliders who disembarked from a peak known as Hang Glider Point in the Kagel Canyon area on Saturday. The man and his gilder were discovered after a search and he was pronounced dead on site.
