Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Driver Near USC

A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a driver near USC Thursday, officials said. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call near 39th Place and Vermont Avenue about 9 a.m. The victim died at the scene, according to LAPD. The driver remained at the scene, said Ricardo Hernandez with the LAPD.

Williams was arrested four days later by Los Angeles police and held in lieu of $1 million bail, according to jail records. If convicted as charged, he could face up to 25 years to life in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
