The single car crash occurred on Sierra Highway near Newhall Avenue just before 1 a.m., said Lt. Cambra with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

"For some reason the car veered off the road and slammed into an Edison pole,'' Shoemaker said.

The two men died at the scene. The name of the other man killed was being withheld pending notification of next of kin. A third man was transported to a hospital in critical condition, Shoemaker added.
