The occupants of the Toyota, a man and a woman in their 20s, suffered minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital. The driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics a little after 1:55 a.m., he said.

Alexander is being charged with murder, vehicle theft and felony evading, police said in a news release. Ornelas will be charged with vehicle theft when she is discharged from the hospital.
