Several hurt in crash of 7 vehicles on LA County freeway

WHITTIER, Calif. (AP) Several people are injured, at least one critically, following a crash involving seven vehicles on a Los Angeles County freeway. County fire officials say an air ambulance has responded to the accident on the southbound Interstate 605 in Whittier. Southbound traffic is backed up for miles at the scene of the crash near Washington Boulevard. KABC-TV reports one patient is critical and numerous others are being treated for minor injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
