Solo vehicle accident in Monterey ends in fatality
A solo vehicle accident off Highway 1 in Monterey ended with the death of the driver, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a blue Ford pick-up with a camper hit a tree on the off ramp at Highway 1 and Fremont Street, killing the driver.
Traffic was reduced to one lane on the off-ramp as emergency crews worked the scene and backed up onto southbound Highway 1 for a time.
