Woman killed in Highway 68 crash, CHP says
Officers said the woman was driving westbound on Highway 68, pulled over to the shoulder and attempted to make a u-turn. That's when a 16-year-old male driver crashed into her car, and the woman died at the scene.

The woman who died Friday afternoon in a collision on Highway 68 has been identified as Jo Ann Eslinger, 89, of Salinas. According to the California Highway Patrol, Eslinger was driving her 2000 Suzuki westbound on 68 at 3:17 p.m., west of Stephanie Lane, when she made a U-turn directly in the path of a 2011 Landrover. That vehicle was driven by a 16-year-old whose name was not released. From the collision, Eslinger received major bodily injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.
