Man Accused in Fatal Orange Hit-and-Run Turns Self In
Christian Thomas McQueen, 43, turned himself into police on Thursday, May 29, 2014, after police released photos of him and his truck accused in a deadly hit-and-run.
A man accused of intentionally ramming his pickup truck into an SUV and killing its driver before fleeing the scene turned himself in to police on Thursday, officials said.
Christian Thomas McQueen, 43, came to the Orange Police Department with his attorney and surrendered one day after police released photos of him and his GMC Sierra pickup truck, Orange police said.
McQueen allegedly struck a Ford Explorer in the 1500 block of North Tustin Street between Van Owen and Chestnut avenues about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, Orange police said.
The Ford rolled over and ejected the driver, 20-year-old Steve Willie Gomez, who died in the hospital, police said.
An 18-year-old woman was also thrown from the Ford Explorer and was recovering in the hospital, officials said.
Police on Wednesday released photos of McQueen and said they believed he intentionally struck the SUV after an altercation.
McQueen was booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana on Thursday evening and was being held in connection with felony vehicular manslaughter, police said.
