An Army veteran was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in the community of Canyon Lake Friday.
An Army veteran was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in the community of Canyon Lake Friday.
Police responded to reports of a man down on the 31000 block of Railroad Canyon Road around 2:17 a.m. and located a man deceased in the roadway.
Family members have since identified the man as 32-year-old Scott Bolger.
Bolger's wife says the father of two had stepped out to a local tavern with his brother-in-law Friday night. Investigators say he was walking home, stepped off the sidewalk, and was hit.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
Bolger was a military veteran and had served in the Army Reserves for eight years.
He was married for five years. He leaves behind a wife and two newborn twins.
